Nobody on their deathbed has ever wished “I had spent more time at the office.”

Welcome to my blog!

Hi, I’m Kevin. I love travelling and the outdoors. And I’ve  been able to sculpt a professional lifestyle which has allowed me to follow this passion.

I decided to start this blog after determining one afternoon I needed a better method to organize and sort all my travel memories. Photo collages wouldn’t cut it. I needed a way to put into words some experiences I had seen.

Countless hours behind a computer screen followed by an uncountable amount of swear words, SeaMoreLands was born.

This site was created to document some of my best travel stories out of 28 countries visited (so far) between 5 different continents.

If there’s one positive experience others can take away from checking out my site, hopefully it’ll inspire others to redeem their hard earned vacation time and visit their lifelong bucket list destinations.

People who focus on collecting experiences over possessions will live a much fuller life.”

A Brief Bio

I’m originally from San Jose, California and received a degree in Construction Management at Cal Poly State University. Up until university, I never took a substantial step abroad to travel to any foreign countries.

One day while sitting behind my desk at my comfortable 9-5 job, I suddenly saw myself stuck in the middle of the rat race. There was no end in sight.

So I resigned, purchased a one way ticket to Europe and began a six month backpacking adventure.

Where did I end up?

I acted on an insider tip while traveling through Germany to interview for an English Teaching position in the Northwest town of Muenster. This is not to be confused with the Muenster cheese, which originates in Muenster, France.

From there on, a two and a half year teaching career commenced for the German Customs administration. During this period I branched out to teach Business English, children’s summer courses and private lessons on the side.

However all good things had to come to an end. The constantly cold and dreary Northern German weather was gradually wearing on my sunny California roots. So change was necessary….

Where I Am Now

In 2015 I moved to sunnier pastures and settled into a different  profession, yachting.

I now work as a Deckhand/First Mate in the industry that’s recently become famous from Below Deck (btw this show is entirely scripted and only “loosely” based around yachting.)

I have been diagnosed with a full addiction to traveling,  I’ll bicycle tour while living out of a single person tent, kick up dust on a multi day trek through the wilderness, or spend my free time researching new destinations.

And there’s no plan on stopping anytime soon.

So sit back, relax, and browse a little around this site. And feel free to reach out and with any questions you may have.
